Admission Process

Currently, Nepal has 21 medical schools and annual MBBS intake capacity of around 1363 to local Nepalese citizens and 562 to SAARC countries and foreign nationals.

There are two possible ways to get MBBS admission in NEPAL.

  1. Category -1: Through Medical Education Commission Entrance examination:
  • All foreign nationals who secured less than 50 percentile in recently conducted national level entrance exam of their respective countries need to appear and qualify in common entrance examination bachelor level programs in health professional education which conducts by Govt of Nepal Medical education commission.
  • All candidates must score at least 50% in MECEE and qualify for the merit list.
  • Exams are conducted at the centers of NEPAL, so students need to travel to appear in MECEE.
  1. Category-2: Direct Admission:
  • Foreign NOT to appear MECEE but conditionally opt to apply on the basis of obtained rank above 50 percentile (or 50% marks in case the results in percentage system) in the recently conducted national level common entrance examination of their respective countries.

Eligibility:

  • The candidate should have passed grade 12 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology scoring minimum of 50% aggregate in total marks or CGPA 2.4 or equivalent
  • Age should be at least 17 years by the last date of submission of application are eligible to apply in the MBBS or BDS courses.
  • TOEFEL/IELTS/SAT are not required

  • Transcript/mark sheet of grade 12 or equivalent. (file size JPEG 200KB of PDF 500KB).
  • Pass port / E-Aadhaar Card (file size JPEG 200KB of PDF 500KB)
  • Scan copy / photo of signature (file size JPEG 200KB of PDF 500KB)
  • Recent pass port size photograph (JPEG max size 200KB)
  • Respective Country Entrance exam admit card and score card
